Descrição: I. 'PREPARATIONS FOR ALEXANDRA DAY. Scenes at the Crippleage where the inmates are making roses for Queen Alexandra's Rose Day.' CUs of women at work - a press crimps the blanks, posies are stuck and stitched together, boxes are packed with the completed flowers.II. 'RUSSIA'S GREAT OFFENSIVE. General Brusiloff the Commander of the 8th. Russian Army who is leading the victorious offensive against the Austrians, resulting in the capture of over 150,000 prisoners to date.' MS as a long column of Austro-Hungarian prisoners marches past under guard. Though unshaven the prisoners seem generally in good shape and well turned out. MS of Brusilov and his staff standing outside a building. An officer crosses to the left to give an old woman a coin - when she attempts to speak to others of the staff, Brusilov orders her away with a few waves of his arm.III. 'ROYAL ENGINEERS' MILITARY SPORTS. The Kent Field Companies R.E. make a special feature of Wrestling and Tug-of-War contests by men on horseback at their sports at Maidenhead.' CUs of a tug-of-war between two teams of men mounted on mules: the animals stand over the rope and are not all that happy - one throws his rider off and others caper about. Spectators watch from a good distance.IV. 'LONDON ACTRESSES MAKING MUNITIONS. Stage favourites being taught how to turn base caps for shells and other phases of munition work.' Men at BSM Ltd teach elementary metalwork to the actresses, who are dressed in neat white overalls - it does not appear that the ladies have much natural aptitude for the work.V. 'REVIEW AT VINCENNES. General Dubail and General Parreau inspecting the Military Preparation Societies at the French Training College.' General Parreau passes the camera - a British officer is present on his staff. General Dubail inspects a rank of men fallen in on open ground - he salutes a flag held by one of the officers. General Dubail with his staff and civilian dignitaries watch march past of soldiers and marines.
